Hi, I’m Lisa Turner Harper

They call me Sparkle. I love to laugh - sometimes out loud - and I live a joyful life. One day you might find me in a spiritual belly dance class and the next day I’m in the boardroom. 

My career has been driven by a passion for people and technology, understanding the power of interpersonal skills, and knowing that having both are critical to success as a leader.  

I began my education as a Computer Science and Applied Mathematics major. I was curious, excelled in the sciences, and as a result, I was guided in the STEM direction. As I look back on that journey, I am privileged to be among a group of black women with a STEM degree. After I graduated undergrad, I knew that I wanted to go to business school so I decided to start by earning my MBA part-time. My journey of self-awareness started with my first MBA class. I felt like a new world had opened before my eyes. A world that involved people and not just technology. I remembered how much working with people brought me joy and how my love for people was important to my work and my life. I became keenly aware that up until that point, I really did not know who I was, I did not know how to trust myself and I did not know what I was passionate about - simply because up until this point, I had been guided by others and had not taken the time to understand what brought me joy and what kept me up all night.  

As I continued my journey of self-awareness, I discovered that I had innate interpersonal skills that allowed me to handle situations gracefully. My education, my journey of self-awareness, and my interpersonal skills led me to a career in project management that has now grown to include teaching and consulting. It is so satisfying to be able to combine all of who I am with the skills that I have built - bringing my whole self to the table to thrive and make a difference.

I believe that we are our own best teachers because true understanding comes from reflecting on our own experiences. Self-awareness and the pursuit of knowing myself fully and trusting myself deeply have been the keys to my success in life.

As a career consultant, expert project manager, adjunct professor and certified coach, I get to inspire, facilitate growth in leadership and communication skills, and drive personal and business results. People, growth, and development are my passions.

I have had a coach since 1999 and I consistently invest in my own growth and development. Personal coaching is the most critical ingredient for extraordinary, consistent success.
